General Purpose Motors Description GE Commercial Motors by Regal-Beloit’s general purpose line of 5.5 inch and 6.4 inch diameter motors in single and three phase are used in a variety of commercial, residential and industrial applications. These motors are tough and stand up to the dirtiest, dustiest and most severe conditions. Our general purpose motors are suitable for the most stringent applications that require high starting torque. Features and Benefits • Powder paint on all steel exterior components including the shell, conduit box and capacitor covers, for improved corrosion-resistance (exceeds 1000-hour salt spray test). • Nameplate is made of UV-resistant Mylar with legible markings and includes a large connection diagram. • Ball bearings are double shielded and permanently lubricated for the life of the motors. • Steel inserts in 6.4-inch diameter motor endshields to eliminate hammered-out bearing housings. • Large (12 cubic inch) conduit box with lip seal and captive screws. • High reliability starting switch with contact wiping action proven to over 1,000,000 cycles without failure. • UL flammability rating of V-0. • The contacts are preset at the factory and never need adjustment. • Non-hygroscopic and anti-fungal materials. • Studs and quick-connect terminals are clearly marked for easy connection through the large terminal box opening. • Centrifugal mechanism manufactured with corrosion-resistant materials and coatings for extended life that matches the switch. • Corrosion-resistant, UV-rated and impact-resistant fan and cover on TEFC ratings. • UL and CSA component recognition to meet local codes. • Severe Duty ratings include special features for long life in harsh environments. • Corrosion-resistant coatings inside and out. • Stainless steel shaft with seals and doubled sealed ball bearings with high temperature grease. • Gasketed conduit box and seals on motor housing. • Three phase are all Energy $aver and all ratings have Class F insulation with Class B rise. • Stainless steel nameplate provides permanent motor identification.
